I am currently a PhD-candidate in German Studies in the Carolina-Duke Program, where I am most interested the concept of Otherness/Othering reflected in language of German modernist poetry as well as in the moment of aesthetic encounter between work and world, especially in the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke. For my paper "Making the Melancholic Mood: Aesthetics of Reception in Joseph Roth’s Radetzkymarsch” I won the Stambaugh-Borchardt Prize in 2020, and in 2018, I received the Joyce Franke Memorial Award for my MA project on language and identity.
